What is residential Christmas light installation?

Residential Christmas light installation is a professional service where a crew designs, custom-cuts and installs commercial-grade holiday lighting on a home, then maintains it through the season and removes it afterward.

The difference between this and a Saturday with a staple gun is precision. Every strand is cut to the exact length of the run it sits on, so the line is continuous and the spacing is even — no bunching at the corner, no dark gap by the chimney.

We light rooflines, gables, dormers, window frames, columns, porches, trees, shrubs and fence lines. Most homes use some combination, and the plan is built around what your architecture actually does well.

What does it include?

Every residential job includes the full season, not just the install day.

How long does a residential install take?

Most Kansas City homes are installed in a single day, start to finish.

Larger properties, steep multi-story rooflines, or jobs with extensive tree and landscape work can run into a second day. We'll tell you which yours is when we quote it, not when we show up.

What colors can I choose?

Almost any combination — classic warm white, red and white, full multicolor, or a custom palette built to your house.

Warm white tends to flatter brick, stone and Tudor detailing. Multicolor reads better on lighter siding and is usually the pick when there are kids in the house. We'll tell you honestly which we think suits your home, then do whatever you want anyway.

Questions

Good things to know

Prices vary by home, but installations start at $549. What moves the number is roofline length, roof height, and how much of the property you want lit — a single-story ranch roofline and a two-story colonial with every window framed are very different jobs. We walk the property, design the display, and give you a firm number before anything is ordered.
We aim for the end of January, pending weather. Takedown is already paid for in your initial fee, so there's no second invoice and nothing to schedule separately.
You do. You purchase the lights, we custom-cut them to fit your home's exact rooflines, and they're yours from that point on. Because they're cut to your house, they fit perfectly every year after.
We store them for you at no additional cost — labeled, organized and off your property. Nothing goes back into your garage or basement. Next season we pull your set and reinstall the same design.
Not normally. Another company's lights were cut for their process and their hardware, and we can't warranty work built on materials we didn't supply. If you're switching to us, reach out and we'll talk through your options.
We serve the greater Kansas City metro, with most of our work in Leawood, Overland Park, Prairie Village, Mission Hills, Brookside and surrounding neighborhoods. If you're not sure whether you're in range, just ask.
